[E!News] FG Vow to BAN Any Music Video Shot Abroad

The Federal Government of Nigeria is set to issue a restriction on shooting of music recordings and additionally films outside the nation.

The Minister of Information, Mr Lai Mohammed made this known on Saturday in Lagos when he visited the base camp of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON).

Amid his visit, Lai Mohammed stated:

‘This legislature has concurred that hereafter, whatever we expend in Nigeria as far as music and movies, must be made in Nigeria”

“We can’t keep on going to South Africa or whatever other nation to create our movies and afterward send them back to be consumed in Nigeria”

“The Broadcasting Code and the Advertising Code are sure about this. For you to group an item as a Nigerian item, it must have a specific rate of Nigerian substance.”
