The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board ( JAMB ), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has said that the 2019 elections could no longer have an effect on the board’s 2019/2020 examination.
He made this observation at the same time as fielding questions from journalists shortly after handing over the 2018 Annual Sobo Sowemimo Lecture of the Abeokuta Club in Abeokuta.
Oloyede said that since the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC ), had given the dates of the elections, then the board would most effective need to regulate as a consequence.
“I don’t assume there could be any need for a shift inside the exam date because of the 2019 preferred elections. I agree with INEC has done nicely by way of giving us a notice 6 months ago.

Oloyede decried the charge at which candidates, who have not qualified in writing the examination registered for it, thereby, inflicting what he described as “unnecessary luggage” on the board.
He stated that the exam frame would adopt stiffer measures to test incidences of unqualified candidates from applying and writing the exam for the 2019/2020 admission exercising.
Oloyede noted that JAMB might no longer allow anyone to take undue advantage over others, saying the board could now not repeat the mistake it recorded within the last exam as regards this improvement.
The JAMB registrar stated the body would start the 2019/2020 examination procedure by October, promising that the procedure for the following exam would be higher than the last one.
