Nigerian Final Year WMU understudy who kicked the bucket of COVID-19 was denied test, sister says
A 25-year-old Western Michigan University understudy from Detroit kicked the bucket Saturday subsequent to getting the coronavirus.
The student, Bassey Offiong, was required to graduate with a synthetic science certificate in half a month.
His sister, Asari Offiong, said her sibling revealed to her he was turned down a few times for the coronavirus test in the Kalamazoo zone while living off-grounds regardless of having fever, exhaustion and brevity of breath.
“I instructed him to request that they test him,” Offiong said. “He said they wouldn’t test him.”
One clinical staff member revealed to him he had bronchitis, she said. She said he had no known earlier medical problems. Offiong said she wasn’t prepared to reveal the areas where he was denied a test.

He was hospitalized at Beaumont in Royal Oak and spent the most recent week on a ventilator in their emergency unit. She called her “child sibling” sweet and unassuming and a “delicate goliath.” She last observed him seven days back.
“I realize God has him in his quality,” Offiong said. “He cherished God.”
He was an individual from the Christ the King Miracle Church in Redford Township.
Bassey Offiong’s fantasy was to begin his own natural cosmetics line with Loreal that would improve ladies’ magnificence, his sister said. He was an alum of Renaissance High School in Detroit.
“He’s simply somebody who thinks so huge,” she said.
Western Michigan University President Edward Montgomery said Offiong had “gigantic potential.”
