The accusation is false and does not reflect the viewpoint of Chevron in Nigeria, according to Esimaje Brikinn, general manager of policy, government, and public affairs at Chevron Nigeria Limited.

Reiterating its dedication to upholding the current, mutually beneficial, and long-term relationship with Nigeria and other stakeholders, the business cited the substantial economic and social investments it has made in Nigeria over the course of the last 60 years as evidence.

In some areas across Nigeria, these investments have led to evident and sustainable socioeconomic improvement, he continued. In Nigeria, CNL will keep interacting with the government about opportunities and policies to assure the petroleum industry’s sustainability and competitiveness on a global scale.
