Manager Claudio Ranieri has been sacked by Premier League champions Leicester City.
The club said his status as the club’s most success boss was “without question” but admitted a change of leadership was “painful” but “necessary”.
It said Leicester’s place in the top flight is “under threat” due to “domestic results” this season.
The club has suffered a series of disappointing results in the current campaign and last night they lost 2-1 to Seville in the first leg of their Champions League match.
The Foxes are currently 17th in the Premiership League, with 21 points, one point above the relegation zone.
