Fans of YBNL act, Adekunle Gold might have to wait just a little longer for the singer’s first studio album.
The reason? The impending Ramadan fasting period.
Adekunle Gold, who has built considerable anticipation for his debut album following the successes of his singles, ‘Pick Up’ and ‘Ready’, has cited the forthcoming religious rites as his reason for the project’s delay.
‘I am pushing it forward a bit because of Ramadan. It was supposed to drop for June 1 before, but apparently it occurred to me that my muslim friends don’t listen to music during Ramadan, so it makes sense to push it forward because of them as well. So by God’s grace in July after Ramadan, and all of us can enjoy it together,’ he said via a Now O’ Clock podcast hosted byWole in an episode tagged ‘Creatives and Criticism.’
He however declined to reveal guest artistes who would appear on the album which he says is ‘80% done’.
The fast-rising singer already has accolades to his name, winning ‘Best Alternative Song’ award for ‘Sade’ at the 2015 Headies ceremony.
