Students of Ohovbe Primary School in Ikpoba-Okha nearby committee of Edo State were on Tuesday pursued out of their classrooms by cows.The students were said to have remained outside for around one hour before the herder came to take them out.
It was gathered that the herdsman have turn the school to an eating ground and the cows used to hide inside the classrooms at whatever time it rains. The classrooms, however, were unkempt as there were no windows and doors. They oozed of cow dung.
A piece of the school edge fence has broken down, which gave the herders access to the school.Headteacher of the school, Mrs. Emumen Mercy, demonstrated journalists a video, recorded by one of the teachers. She said they have confronted the situation for a long time and approached significant organizations to spare the children from danger.
Some of the teachers said they have revealed the case to government authorities yet nothing has been done about it. They asserted that the cows used to remain in the school field even when the students are playing amid break time.
