The Nigerian rap throne is about to become vacant, as Nigeria’s number one punch line rap act, M.I Abaga, is on the verge of quitting music as revealed by a recent Twitter reply he gave to a fan who asked for a new jam from him.
The rapper, who somewhat relegated himself from the rap game and music scene as a whole, had mostly been heard in collabos, as he’d hardly dropped new jams in the past year. As is the manner of music acts, it was supposed that M.I was simply taking time off the spotlight to cook something mind blowing and breath taking for his lovely fans.
But it turned out so shocking to get a note from M.I about his retirement from music. Like seriously, who does he expect to take over the throne and continue feeding our insatiable appetite for punch line rap songs? Anyway, M.I has made his decision and no one can do anything about that. One of the rapper’s fan reached him on Twitter and asked saying;
“My playlist for this weekend. But bros eh @MI_Abaga how far nah? We need new music. How can we help you?” In response, the one and only ‘Mr. Incredible’ wrote; “I’m retired.” This is so saddening!!! Who else is missing him already
