The government on Tuesday, November 5 demanded the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) must work out modalities to decrease the cost of data in light of a legitimate concern for Nigerians.
This was the situation of the Minister of communication and advanced economy, Dr Isa Ali Pantami.
Pantami said his office has been immersed with grumblings from concerned Nigerians about the significant expense of data by telecoms administrators.
He commanded the administration of the NCC drove by its board director, Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye, to work out the modalities with different partners in the business to address the objections as quickly as time permits.
Senator Durojaiye had driven individuals from the board on an affability visit to the minister.
“I am urging the management of NCC to work towards reducing the price of data in Nigeria. It is too costly and people are complaining every day,” The Nation quoted the minister as saying.
Last month, the minister had directed the NCC to bring to stem the tide of illegal deduction of the data of subscribers and work towards the downward review of the cost.
