  • 90’+2′
    Assist André Ayew Pelé
It was the hard work of Carroll and Ayew that created that goal, the former pinching the ball from Fabregas and allowing the latter to feed Lanzini.
  • 90’+2′
    Goal Manuel Lanzini
GOAL! Now West Ham have something to shout about – it’s Lanzini! The ball breaks his way and he drills past Courtois. Surely not? 1-2.
90’+2′
Snodgrass leaves Kante in the dust with a smart manoeuvre, but Zouma is across to close him down. It’s been a little soul-destroying for West Ham, with Chelsea’s defence superb throughout.
90’+1′
There are three minutes to be added in this one. It looks as though it will end 2-0 to the league leaders at London Stadium.
89′
CLOSE! West Ham have been less consistent with their crossing in the second half, but Andre Ayew now delivers. Azpilicueta, though, is there ahead of Carroll to shielda dangerous centre behind. Marvellous defending.
  • 87′
Chelsea again go short from the set-piece, but Fabregas’ delivery is too deep. Matic retrieves the ball, but Fonte is across to wrestle back possession for the hosts.
  • 87′
Corner to Chelsea. Kante, again, drives the visitors forward and Willian lets fly from a tight angle on the right. His effort is blocked and runs behind.
  • 86′
Diego Costa is frustrated – and he may have a point. Kante slips a pass in towards the Chelsea forward, and Fonte rather ruggedly lunges into a challenge. There’s no free-kick, though, and Diego Costa slowly picks himself up.
84′
This is tough to watch for the home supporters as they start to snake back into the various concourses and the seats empty. A patient attack comes to an end when Snodgrass runs the ball across the touchline.
82′
CHANCE! Chelsea are so methodical in their attacking, with Diego Costa, Alonso, Azpilicueta and Willian all linking up before Fabregas sidefoots over the top. A third for the visitors appears more likely than West Ham scoring at this stage.
  • 80′
The West Ham fans are still in fine voice, but it doesn’t look as though it’s going to be their day. The hosts still can’t break through Chelsea, and Fernandes then concedes a free-kick on the halfway line.
  • 78′
A crucial interception by Fernandes straight away. Matic tees up a cross for Azpilicueta, and his delivery appears to be headed for Diego Costa’s right boot until the West Ham substitute nods clear.
  • 77′
    SubstitutionMark NobleEdimilson Fernandes
CHANGE! And West Ham captain Noble goes off for Edimilson Fernandes.
  • 76′
When the corner finally comes in, it’s easy for Courtois, who launches the ball forward for another Chelsea attack. West Ham belatedly recover.
  • 76′
    SubstitutionVictor MosesKurt Zouma
    Substitution Victor Moses Kurt Zouma
  • 75′
    SubstitutionEden HazardWillian Borges da Silva
CHANGE! West Ham will be relieved to see the back of Hazard. What a performance. On comes Willian.
  • 73′
Corner to West Ham. Noble dances past Azpilicueta all too easily, but the magnificent Moses blocks the low cross.
  • 72′
West Ham have no option but to throw bodies forward at this stage, but, every time they do, Chelsea seem to pick off the ball and counter. Hazard is again the runner, although he’s soon slowed.
  • 71′
West Ham are slowly building forward, but there’s no way through the solid Chelsea back-line. Obiang finally shoots a long, long way wide.
  • 68′
Chelsea take the set-piece short, with the subsequent cross half-cleared by Carroll. Azpilicueta arrives to shoot, but slices with both feet and the ball eventually trickles wide.
  • 67′
SAVE! And what a save! Chelsea counter, once again, through Kante and Hazard. The latter appears to have been held up, but nudges a pass through to Costa, who spins and forces a stunning low stop from Randolph. Corner.
  • 65′
    SubstitutionPedro Eliezer Rodríguez LedesmaNemanja Matić
CHANGE! And Chelsea have their own substitution, with Matic on for Pedro.
  • 64′
    SubstitutionWinston ReidSam Byram
CHANGE! And it’s the end of Reid’s game, too, in a double-switch. He appears to be injured as Sam Byram takes his place.
  • 64′
    SubstitutionSofiane FeghouliAndré Ayew Pelé
CHANGE! That’s Feghouli’s last action as he’s replaced by Andre Ayew.
  • 63′
West Ham appear to have Chelsea penned in, but Feghouli loses the ball and fails to track his runner. The visitors break, but Reid’s firm challenge stops Diego Costa in his tracks.
  • 61′
BLOCK! CLOSE! Now West Ham are giving it a go! The corner is cleared, but Snodgrass is able to cross again from the left. The ball breaks for Feghouli and Moses blocks brilliantly on the line. A third dangerous delivery, from Reid, is nodded off target by defensive partner Fonte.
  • 60′
And West Ham quickly counter, winning a corner from Cesar Azpilicueta by the touchline.
  • 60′
Crucial from Fonte as he cuts out Fabregas’ pass. He’s been given the runaround at times by Hazard, but gets there first this time.
  • 59′
A worrying moment for Courtois! Feghouli spreads wide to Snodgrass, who whips in a cross that bends away from the goalkeeper and looks as though it might find the top corner. It doesn’t, but stays in and West Ham keep the pressure on.
  • 57′
A let-off for Reid this time. He completely misses his kick and Moses is in on the right flank. The cross, though, is dealt with by Kouyate.
  • 56′
West Ham are keeping the ball at long last, but, 2-0 down, they need to do more than that. Chelsea are comfortable.
  • 54′
CLOSE! Carroll does well to bring the ball down under pressure from David Luiz, then turning to shoot from 25 yards. There appears little danger of the West Ham man testing Courtois, but his effort just clips the top of the net.
  • 52′
CHANCE! It’s nearly three! Chelsea attack through, of all people, Alonso and Moses. The former dances past a challenge into the area on the left, but, under pressure, dinks a finish wide.
  • 52′
It’s a long, long way back for West Ham now. Lanzini lets fly as they seek an immediate reprieve, but it causes little problem for Courtois.
  • 50′
    Goal Diego Da Silva Costa
GOAL! How about that? Diego Costa has Premier League goal number 49 and it’s oh so easy. The corner is delivered from the left, Obiang can only flick the ball on and Diego Costa, away from Winston Reid, bundles over the line. 0-2.
  • 50′
Now a corner at the other end. Moses clears the corner, Snodgrass is tackled and Chelsea can counter. Hazard plays a glorious pass off his back to Kante, switching the ball for Alonso to win a set-piece.
49′
Corner to West Ham. A rare slack Kante pass presents the ball to Noble, who finds Snodgrass and his cross is deflected out.
  • 47′
That pressure from the visitors soon comes to an end, though, as Pedro’s challenge on Lanzini is high. West Ham have a free-kick and an opportunity to start building from the back.
  • 47′
Hazard has already enjoyed a couple of touches in this second half, and Chelsea have the territorial advantage again as they attack from the off.
  • 46′
KICK-OFF: Carroll gets the second half started for West Ham.
  • The players are back out on the pitch at London Stadium. We’re set to go again!
  • Rather than responding positively to that setback, West Ham have panicked a little and could be further behind. Chelsea need to be a little more ruthless with their attacks – Diego Costa, in particular, has been rather cumbersome on the ball.
  • t’s a deserved lead for the visitors at the interval. West Ham started brightly, but Chelsea have been on top in the latter part of the half and lead through Hazard’s superb strike on the break.
  • 45’+4′
    HALF-TIME: West Ham 0-1 Chelsea.
  • 45’+4′
West Ham look to end the half with a break of their own, but Lanzini’s pass is picked off by David Luiz ahead of Carroll.
  • 45’+4′
Another disappointing delivery from the right for Chelsea. Hazard charges down a clearance and the ball spins for Moses, but his cross is straight at Randolph.
  • 45’+3′
West Ham are living very dangerously! Chelsea counter once again, but both Diego Costa and Alonso get their feet in a muddle in the area and fail to get a shot off. The hosts have to stop allowing Conte’s men to attack like that.
  • 45’+2′
Yellow Card Francesc Fàbregas i Soler
YELLOW! Fabregas has been quiet, but he leaves his mark on Cresswell, cutting the West Ham man’s run short and taking a booking.
  • 45’+1′
There will be an additional four minutes in this first half as the referee accounts for a number of stoppages.
  • 45′
The delivery, however, is easily picked off by Randolph. A waste.
  • 45′
Corner to Chelsea. Kante passes to the offside Alonso, who leaves the ball for the midfielder to chase after it and keep possession. He then finds Hazard, who plays across to Moses on the right to win a corner.
  • 42′
After that brave intervention, Cresswell is the latest West Ham player to require attention from the physios. That gives Slaven Bilic time to give instructions to his players on the touch-line.
  • 41′
BLOCK! SAVE! It’s desperate stuff from West Ham! Hazard races clear on the left, crossing for Diego Costa, who cannot turn a shot towards goal. Moses, though, is steaming in and sees a low finish blocked by Cresswell, before Randolph saves smartly from Pedro’s follow-up.
40′
CHANCE! Lanzini moves through the midfield, swaps passes with Noble, and shoots high over the crossbar. By no means a simple opportunity, but, in the centre of goal 20 yards out, he should really have hit the target.
39′
Huge tackle from Obiang! Pedro had space in the area and was working the ball onto his left foot to shoot, but the West Ham midfield dangled out a leg to take possession. Vital.
37′
Kouyate escapes again. He pressures Cahill, then fouls the Chelsea captain, but referee Marriner does not consider it worthy of a booking. Up against the dangerous Hazard, Kouyate is certainly walking a tightrope.
  • 35′
While still waiting for a sight of goal, Diego Costa is becoming more and more involved for Chelsea. He fails to reach a long David Luiz pass, but then harries Jose Fonte as West Ham give up the ball.
  • 33′
Carroll is receiving more treatment as he continues to struggle with that earlier blow to his nose. On the pitch, meanwhile, Courtois just about avoids handling outside his area as he races out to meet Feghouli.
  • 32′
West Ham have lost their composure a little. Another long ball to Carroll is rewarded with a towering flick-on, but Feghouli cheaply concedes possession and Kouyate then clatters Hazard. A final warning for the West Ham man…
  • 30′
Chelsea were almost in again there! Diego Costa threaded a pass in towards Alonso, who was only just caught by Feghouli before he could get the ball out of his feet. Pedro similarly struggles to control moments later.
  • 29′
West Ham are just regrouping now as they seek a route back into the game. They finally work space for Snodgrass to cross again on the left, but Courtois claims.
  • 25′
    Assist Pedro Eliezer Rodríguez Ledesma
    Assist Pedro Eliezer Rodríguez Ledesma
  • 25′
    Goal Eden Hazard
GOAL! A first chance and a first goal – it’s Hazard for Chelsea! With West Ham cheaply giving the ball away from that free-kick, the visitors move up the pitch quickly, Hazard swapping passes and sprinting forward. Taking the ball finally just outside the area, he rounds Darren Randolph and slides into the net. Brilliantly brutal. 0-1.
  • 25′
It’s Lanzini’s turn to take, but he hammers into the wall and Chelsea can break…
  • 24′
Another important headed interception at the back for Chelsea – Carroll denied by Cahill from Cresswell’s centre – but West Ham have another free-kick in a dangerous area. Hazard unwittingly fouls Noble around 25 yards from goal.
  • 22′
The second effort – a more rudimentary cross into the box – is overhit and Courtois gathers. Disappointing for West Ham.
  • 22′
Snodgrass will have the opportunity to deliver again from a set-piece as Kante fouls Carroll. An attempt to take the free-kick quickly to Feghouli is denied by Marriner.
  • 21′
The ball is just stuck in the middle third at the moment. Manuel Lanzini does well to pickpocket the dallying Diego Costa, but then takes on a man too many in the Chelsea half and loses out to David Luiz.
  • 20′
West Ham are working hard to prevent Chelsea breaking themselves, with Feghouli snapping at the heels of a visiting player – and committing a foul – in an attempt to stop Hazard from getting on the ball in a dangerous area.
  • 18′
The second delivery is better. Snodgrass tempts Courtois from his line, but Moses heads away and David Luiz then wins a free-kick from Kouyate.
  • 18′
And another corner. Carroll gets the run on Cahill, but the England defender is able to nod the ball wide.
  • 17′
Corner to West Ham. Snodgrass is giving Moses a tough test on West Ham’s left-hand side. Crossing time after time, his latest delivery is deflected behind.
16′
And yet West Ham immediately find a solution for that problem – a long hoof to Carroll allows Snodgrass space to cross on the break. His centre skips across the box, reaching Feghouli on the far side and the hosts keep the ball.
14′
Perhaps wary of the sides’ respective threats, both managers have their teams sitting very deep when out of possession. The options are limited in attack, to say the least.
  • 12′
Diego Costa has so far seen very little of the ball. He loses possession to Snodgrass when he finally takes a pass, and the West Ham winger is soon charging upfield. A firm David Luiz challenge halts that move.
  • 10′
And now there’s a short stoppage for Cahill to replace said shirt, although Marriner insists Chelsea play on without their captain momentarily.
  • 9′
Carroll is back on the pitch, but he chooses not to leap with Marcos Alonso for the next lofted ball. The battle continues elsewhere, though, as Feghouli appears to have torn Cahill’s shirt.
  • 8′
With Carroll off the pitch, Thibaut Courtois punches Robert Snodgrass’ corner clear. Chelsea look to break through Hazard, Pedro and Kante, but a stray pass brings the attack to an end.
  • 6′
Moses did tremendously to deny Carroll a free header, but the West Ham man is now receiving treatment to a bloody nose as he appeared to be caught by the Chelsea wing-back.
  • 6′
Corner to West Ham – and it all comes from a first cross towards Carroll. Sofiane Feghouli centres, Victor Moses challenges with the big forward and Robert Snodgrass’ strike is then deflected behind.
  • 4′
Eden Hazard is finding space both out wide and through the middle. He draws a foul first from Kouyate and, although that free-kick comes to nothing, he soon has the ball back to tease Pedro Obiang into a late lunge.
  • 3′
Now West Ham have the ball. Cheikhou Kouyate has lined up, as expected, on the right of a back four as the hosts opt against matching Chelsea’s shape.
  • 2′
In contrast to that direct start, Chelsea are now passing the ball around the back. West Ham are yet to really have any sort of possession.
  • 1′
And straight from the kick-off, Chelsea knock the ball back for David Luiz to launch a long pass in behind the West Ham defence. Pedro cannot quite control.
  • 1′
KICK-OFF: Here we go! Diego Costa gets us started.
  • The handshakes and other formalities are complete. We are just about ready for the off…
  • And here they come! Referee Andre Marriner leads the sides out as bubbles, of course, fill the air.
  • The players are ready in the tunnel, too, with Mark Noble lining up alongside Gary Cahill. The teams will soon take to the pitch.
  • London Stadium is filling up nicely. We are now just under 10 minutes from kick-off in this London derby…
  • “This kind of award is better to give at the end of the season and I hope to give this award to one of my players, all of my players,” the Blues manager said. “This season, until now, all my players are playing very well and deserve the best.”
  • N’Golo Kante also plays after picking up the Premier League Player of the Year prize at the London Football Awards last week, although Conte believed it was an award that could have gone to any one of his Chelsea players.
  • Chelsea also have an in-form forward closing in on a half-century in England’s top flight – Diego Costa is two away on 48 goals. Cesc Fabregas starts again ahead of Nemanja Matic.
  • Key performer Michail Antonio is missing for West Ham after seeing red at Watford, but Andy Carroll returns as he chases a 50th Premier League goal. The former Liverpool man’s tally currently stands at 49.
  • Subs: Begovic, Zouma, Terry, Matic, Loftus-Cheek, Willian, Batshuayi.
  • Chelsea: Courtois, Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Cahill, Moses, Fabregas, Kante, Alonso, Pedro, Diego Costa, Hazard.
  • Subs: Adrian, Collins, Byram, Masuaku, Fernandes, Calleri, Ayew.
  • West Ham: Randolph, Kouyate, Fonte, Reid, Cresswell, Noble, Obiang, Feghouli, Lanzini, Snodgrass, Carroll.
  • Now, how about some team news?
  • West Ham’s campaign has been a little less straightforward – crashing out of Europe early, struggling domestically and losing star man Dimitri Payet – but they have lost just one of their last six league games. They will be looking to regain a place in the top half here.
  • Antonio Conte’s men lost here in the EFL Cup in October, but that was merely a minor blip in an otherwise outstanding season for the Blues – they have been beaten just once more in all competitions since that meeting. Victory today would restore a 10-point lead at the summit.
  • Welcome to our live text commentary as table-toppers Chelsea visit West Ham United’s London Stadium in Premier League action for the first time.
