JUST IN: UCH restricts entry amidst COVID-19 outbreak in Ibadan

The University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, has restricted mobility into its premises due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Oyo state, an official statement revealed.

in a circular by the Director of Administration, S.O. Oladejo, transmitted to all members of staff, the management directed that only staff who are car owners and have patients in the ward, will be allowed to enter the hospital in order curtail the spread of the coronavirus within UCH community.

The statement dated March 23rd 2020 further emphasized that the limited staff will only be allowed entry upon display of their UCH’s sticker on their private vehicles.

According to the latest statistics from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, 40 cases have been recorded with 28 cases in Lagos, 7 in FCT, two in Ogun and one each in Oyo, Ekiti and Edo.
One death has also been recorded.
