Lekan Balogun, The Soon-to-be Crowned Olubadan Of Ibadanland, Is Greeted By A Large Crowd

A crowd has welcomed, Lekan Balogun, the next in line to become the new Olubadan of Ibadanland.

A visibly happy crowd chanted ‘kabiyesi! Kabiyesi!!’ as he stormed Ibadan while being welcomed by the elders of the community.

Lekan Balogun is a former lawmaker and remains the most senior chief from the two ruling chieftaincy lines, Egbe Agba (civil) and Balogun (military) that produce successors to the throne in the state.

He will become the next Olubadan of Ibadanland subject to the approval of the state governor.

Balogun, who represented the state at the red chamber, senate, and celebrated his 79th birthday last October, is statutorily the next person to occupy the Olubadan stool.
