Man City’s possible line-up against Arsenal if Cristiano Ronaldo joins

Pep Guardiola will have unbelievable options at his disposal if Cristiano Ronaldo joins Manchester City as the forward has reportedly agreed terms to make the switch to the Etihad

Cristiano Ronaldo could headline a spectacular starting line-up for Manchester City with the forward on the verge of a move to the Etihad.

Multiple reports claim that the Juventus star has agreed personal terms with the 36-year-old as he looks set to leave Turin.

It was a kick in the teeth for Pep Guardiola on Wednesday as they received the news that Harry Kane would be staying in Tottenham this summer despite months of talks between the clubs.

But they have wasted no time in lining up an alternative and they don’t come better than Ronaldo who has been one of the two best players in the world for their last decade or so.

Ronaldo’s future was thrown in doubt at the weekend when he requested to be left out of Juventus’ starting XI for their Serie A opener with Udinese.

He reportedly informed his Juve teammates that he wanted to join City as his agent Jorge Mendes offered the former Manchester United man to Guardiola’s men.

And now it’s been reported that an agreement is in place and Ronaldo is set to join the reigning Premier League champions.

For City, they have their replacement for Sergio Aguero and no longer face going through the season without a recognised no.9.

Guardiola has unbelievable options at his disposal as they solidify their favourites tag for the league and Champions League this season.

Here’s how City could line up if Ronaldo makes his move to the blue side of Manchester.

The City boss will use his trusted keeper Ederson in between the sticks with a back four of Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias, John Stones and Joao Cancelo, who is preferred in his unfavoured position at left-back due to the struggles of Benjamin Mendy.

The Frenchman, his compatriot, Aymeric Laporte and Oleksandr Zinchenko will be a part of the rotation throughout the season.

Then we move onto the midfield where Guardiola almost has two players in each position.

Fernandinho will protect the back four with Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne ahead of him where City fans will be able to see one of the best midfielders in the world link up with one of the best ever to play the game.

Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish could all easily slot into this midfield and it’s anyone’s guess who Guardiola will go for on any given day as the dreaded ‘Pep roulette’ is set to strike again.
