The Bauchi State Government says no less than 10,800 needy individuals will soon profit by the Federal Government Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program in 360 groups in the state. Mr Mansur Soro, Special Adviser to Gov.
Mohammed Abubakar on Development Partners, made this known in a meeting in Bauchi on Wednesday.
Soro said that each of the recipients would get N5, 000, saying that the payment would initiate before the end of January.
He said the state group was on the field for biometric catching of the recipients, including that they would get to their assets through Guaranty Trust Bank.
“Bauchi was chosen because of the current social enlist that effectively distinguished the most powerless and poorest in the nation through tried Community Based Targeting (CBT).
“The CCT is a Federal Government program that will dispense N5,000 to poor people.
“The recipients were chosen from Bauchi, Alkaleri, Tafawa Balawe, Dass, Ganjuwa, Gamawa, Giade,Jamare, Itas/Gadau,Misau and Katagum and Ningi neighborhood government regions,” he said.
