Unknown gunmen suspected to be armed robbers on Wednesday, March 28, shot dead the youth leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Etsako West nearby government of Edo State, Samson Sedi.

Sedi, popularly referred to as Power Remain, was allegedly killed by  armed robbers while trying to rescue a lady petrol station attendant at NNPC mega in Jattu, Etsako West Local Government Area, who was robbed on Wednesday in Jattu.

The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has expressed surprise at the news of the brutal killing of Mr Sedi.

“I turned into stunned on receiving the information of Mr. Samson Sedi’s demise. My heart is going out to his circle of relatives. I even have ordered the relevant safety organizations to arrest the killers and prosecute them right now,” Obaseki stated.

He described the overdue Sedi as “a grassroots mobiliser, a philanthropist who cared for orphans and a wonderful lover of people, whose demise is a massive loss to Edo humans and the APC.”
