FasasiFurious Bayelsan young people yesterday held a rally to bolster the detainment of Mr. George Turnah, godson to previous President Goodluck Jonathan.
Driven by their organizers, Harrow Zuokomor and Abule Bethel, the rally was held under the aegis of Concerned Citizens of Bayelsa State.
As per the coordinators, they were stunned by the extent of the billions of assets purportedly seized from him.
He was a two-time Special Adviser to previous overseeing chief of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) from 2012 to 2015.
Turnah was asserted to have deceitfully occupied over N3billion suspected to be stolen stores from the NDDC.
While recognizing the EFCC for an occupation well done, they asked the organization to restore the seized assets to empower the state to embrace the activities that they were reserved for.
The young people conveyed notices with different engravings, for example, “We thank the EFCC for uncovering degenerate people,” “Adversaries of Niger Delta uncovered,” “George Turnah devastated Bayelsa State.”
The dissenters started their solidarity walk from Ekeki Moteo Park to a left state House of Assembly and the Headquarters of the Police Command
Zuokomor presented the gathering’s request to the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Asuquo Amba for an ahead accommodation to the EFCC and the Presidency.
He denounced defilement among political representatives in the states and at national level, saying it has kept on devastating the standard individuals.
The police magistrate complimented the serene direct of the nonconformists and guaranteed to convey their message to the proper specialists.
The kept 34-year Turnah is confronting a 12-number charge under the steady gaze of a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, verging on acquiring cash by falsification, washing and manhandle of office.
The assets were professedly held up in the records of a few phantom organizations, including one having a place with his five-year old girl.
Equity Ibrahim Watilat of the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, had on Wednesday requested his detainment at the Kirikiri Prison.
