Speaking at the brief event that took place at the command’s headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, the Legal and Regulatory Service officer of NCC, Mrs. Hafsat Lawal said the event which saw the donation of laptops and printers was to assist the command in carrying out its duties effectively.

Lawal while addressing journalists said, “We are doing this as we are a good friend and partner to the police force and we have been touring round the police headquarters and today is the turn of our friend here in Oyo State and that is why we are here this morning to give them some laptops and printers to use in combating crimes most especially in the area of cyber crime”.

She, however, urged members of the public to keep the police abreast on the happenings in their domains.

“I urge members of the public to always inform the police on anything strange in their area. This will give the police to work effectively, people should all see the security job as work of all of us and not the police alone”.

Lawal also used the opportunity to advise the youths to make use of the benefits of ICT.

“I urge all our youths to make use of the advantage of the ICT and stop looking for white collar job as the government cannot provide job for the jobless youth in our country and instead of our youths to be roaming around the street or engaging in unlawful activities, they should try to be creative and use the advantage of ICT as the only striving sector in our country today and use it to their benefit and this will surely help them to take something home.”

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sam Adegbuyi in appreciation promised the NCC to use the equipment for the purpose to which they were meant for.

“I am saying here that those materials will be use judiciously and we are always ready to work with our friend NCC whenever they call on us, I also thank the NCC the for this kind gesture”.
