Oil palm farmers under the auspices of the National Oil Palm Produce Association of Nigeria, Ondo State chapter, have referred to President Muhammadu Buhari to wade into the importation of unlawful palm oil inside the country.
The farmers said there were many kinds of overseas palm oil within the Nigerian markets illegally imported through those it known as unpatriotic businessmen.
Speaking at the development on Friday in Akure, the Ondo State capital, the Chairman of the affiliation, Mr. Biodun Adetula, said the farmers taken into consideration the importation as an act of sabotage, which was adversely affecting the development of the kingdom’s palm oil industry.
