Taking after the reaction by Nigerians against the shooting the continuous Big Brother Naija Reality TV appear in South Africa rather than in Nigeria, Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has coordinated the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to explore the conditions that required such activity.
In an announcement in Abuja on Tuesday, Alhaji Mohammed requested that the NBC figure out if MultiChoice, by shooting the show in South Africa, has ruptured the Nigerian Broadcasting Code in any capacity, or if the organization misdirected the survey open as they were not informed that the occasion would be arranged outside Nigeria.
“As a nation of laws, just the result of the examination will decide our next line of activity,” he said.
Alhaji Mohammed said while concerned Nigerians have shelled his office with calls to gripe about what they see as an irregularity (of shooting outside the nation a show implied for Nigerians), he asked Nigerians to resist the urge to panic while the NBC examines the issue and presents its discoveries.
