The Police Command in Rivers State said that about 10 people in Mgbuosimi in Obio/Apkor Local Government Area of the state were killed by strange armed/gunmen in the early hours of Monday.
Nnamdi Omoni, the summon’s Police Public Relations Officer, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Port Harcourt that the reason for the pandemonium was yet to be known.
“Ten individuals are feared dead in the brutality and no one knows the reason for the violence for now,” he said.
Mr. Omoni said investigation concerning the brutality had started, yet no capture had been made and spoke to the general public to outfit the police with unique information that could help in arresting the suspects.
According to Mr. Omoni, the armed men requested for the phone handsets from their victims, including that the individuals who disagree in releasing their handsets were shot.
He denied that any chief in the community was murdered.
Mr. Omoni stated: “culprits must be punished regardless to what extent it might take to arrest them,” he said.
