Ekiti State Government has described as misleading online publications claiming that the State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, promised to fund the movement of the corpse of late Nollywood Actress, Moji Olaiya, from Canada to Nigeria.
Fayose’s Special Assistant on New Media, Lere Olayinka, in an announcement issued in Ado Ekiti on Monday, depicted as reckless, the remark made by a specific Olukayode Salako, guaranteeing that Governor Fayose declined demand to help with the flying of Moji Olaiya’s carcass to Nigeria.
“It is absolutely untrustworthy with respect to the said Olukayode Salako, who is said to be the spouse of Actress Foluke Daramola to have taken to the online media to slander the individual of the representative when even relatives and certifiable companions of the expired are grieving her and looking for methods for agreeing her a befitting burial”, he said.
Lere kept up that there was no official correspondence between the representative and Moji Olaiya’s family.
“On Thursday, a week ago, I was reached on telephone by a columnist companion, Yomi Fabiyi, on the requirement for the Ekiti State Government to help with raising an aggregate of $15,000 expected to present to Moji Olaiya’s body to Nigeria.
“My quick reaction was that an official demand, by means of a letter ought to be made and that the letter will be exhibited to the representative. I gave him my email deliver to which I said the letter ought to be sent.
“On Friday, I educated the Chief of Staff to the senator, Chief Dipo
Anisulowo of my phone discussion with Yomi Fabiyi, and my reaction that official letter ought to be composed to the senator.
“Up till today, the letter has not been sent and thusly, no official demand has been made to the State Government.
“At the point when my consideration was attracted to online distribution that Governor Fayose had chosen to support the flying of the perished cadaver to Nigeria, I called the writer who did the report and let him know distinctly that no such choice was taken by the representative.
“It was on the quality of this that Mr Yomi Fabiyi issued a press proclamation for the benefit of the Burial Committee, expressing that no demand had been made to the administration of Ekiti State and the official letter asked for was yet to be sent.
“It consequently beats our creative ability that specific character like Olukayode Salako could take to the online media to make harsh remarks on the representative, purportedly in the interest of the family.
“While we mourn with the Olaiya group of Ijesha Isu Ekiti, Moji Olaiya’s companions, fans and partners in the motion picture industry, we wish to exhort that the family ought to saddle just mindful individuals with the undertaking of agreeing their little girl a befitting internment”, he expressed.
