Ogun Students warns OP-MESA: War Against ‘Yahoo Boys’ Not License To Unleash Terror On Citizens

Students in Ogun State has cautioned the operatives of the newly constituted joint security outfit in Ogun State, code-named OP-MESA, from engaging in undue harassment and oppression of citizens, especially students in the discharge of their duty.

Governor Dapo Abiodun had on Friday launched the security outfit to combat internet fraudsters “Yahoo boys”, armed robbery, cultism, kidnapping, banditry, killer herdsmen, highway robbery and other criminal activities in the state.

Abiodun particularly noted that Ogun now ranks highest on Yahoo boys’ ladders, saying the state would condone the menace.

But the students under the aegis of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and the National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) have cautioned the operatives to carry out their operations with civility.

Addressing newsmen in Abeokuta, the President of NAOSS, Oluwagbemileke Ogunroumbi insisted that the cybercrime war does not give the security agents license to unleash terror on the citizens.
