Ondo Monarch Applauds Construction Of Multi Million Naira Ict Centre In His Domain

The Olowa of Igbara-Oke, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Francis Adefarakanni Agbede at the weekend lauded the construction of a multi million naira Janet Oluwafunmilayo Oluwasanmi (New Elemo) Computer Center, donated to Anglican Grammar School, Igbara-Oke, by Prof. Oladipo Elemo.
The monarch made the remarks while inspecting the facilities at the centre. He said he was filled with joy, and words alone cannot expressed how happy he was to have seen the great feat accomplished by Prof. Elemo.
Speaking at the occasion, the donor, Prof. Oladipo Elemo said the center was built in remembrance of her late elder sister, Chief Mrs. Janet Olufunmilayo Oluwasanmi (nee Elemo), who died 20 years ago, precisely, March 28, 1999. Prof. Elemo who is an alumni of Anglican Grammar School, Igbara-Oke, 1968 set, highlighted the roles played by her elder sister in the course of him being who he is today.
He said the facilities was borne out of his passion to help give back to the society, and to see the younger generations grown in the  area of information and communication technology. He also expressed concern over the continued dilapidated state of school buildings which he said, are in terrible shape and needed to be renovated, with the construction of a perimeter fence around the school grounds.
While commending the monarch for the fatherly roles he has been playing since he ascended the throne of his fore fathers, Prof. Elemo also used the opportunity to call on other alumni to look into divers needs of the school and help meet them.
Earlier in his address, the Principal of Anglican Grammar School, Mr. Begbaji gave the highlights of supports and contributions the school has gotten from the town, particularly from the alumni of the school, which include, 80 sets of plastic lockers and chairs by 1983 set and a hall project donated by the 1978 set, which will soon be completed.
Mr. Begbaji also commended the alumni for the award of scholarships to the best two students in the Junior Classes and payment of West African Examination Council fee for best Senior Secondary students in 2018/2019 academic year by 1996 sets to mention a few.
He however called on the government through the Ministry of Education to help provide adequate security for the newly Commissioned Computer Center and many other facilities which are in the pipeline for the use of the school.
