United Nigeria Airlines Granted Approval for International Flights to Six Countries

In a significant development, the Federal Government, acting through the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, has granted United Nigeria Airlines a green light to commence international flight operations to a lineup of prominent destinations. The approval, conveyed through a formal letter dated September 8, 2023, and signed by Mr. H.T. Ejiburu, Director of Air Transport Management, on behalf of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, signifies a remarkable milestone for the airline.

The destinations in question encompass the United States of America, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Italy, Ireland, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This momentous decision comes in direct accordance with the established Bilateral Air Services Agreements (BASAs) between Nigeria and each of these countries.

The official letter, which has been made available to Leadership, states: “I am directed to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 2nd August 2023 on the above subject and convey the Honourable Minister’s approval for the designation of Messrs United Nigeria Airlines Company Limited to operate international flight operations to the undermentioned countries and cities: Netherlands (Amsterdam), Italy (Rome), United Arab Emirates (Dubai), United Kingdom (London), United States of America (USA) (Houston), and Ireland (Dublin).”
