The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has said that Nigeria right now positions third comprehensively on internet violations/crime record.
As indicated by the Chief Executive Officer of the commission, Umar Danbatta, Nigeria with 91.6 million of web users is just behind the United Kingdom and the United States.
He unveiled this on Tuesday at the progressing 2017 Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association in Lagos labeled: “African Business: Penetrating through Institution Building”.
He stated: “About N127 billion was the assessed loss due to cybercrime in Nigeria in 2015; Nigeria positions third in worldwide internet crime behind the UK and U.S.
“A basic factor militating against Africa’s economic resurgence is the weakness of its establishments.
“Nigeria positions 169 out of 199 on the World Bank’s ease of working together rankings; we are in a center of a transformation and the ascent of what we call the arranged society.
“The NCC stipulates the laws of engagement that will make the internet safe and guarantee the certainty and in addition the security of the internet,” Danbatta, an expert, said.
“There are advantages and dangers of the utilization of the internet and both must be legitimately managed.”
